My career has been varied from day one, at McDonald’s. Through my career, I have always worked with people, from hospitality, secretarial, property, beauty and Media. I have always been focused on learning and happy to roll up my sleeves, one skill I have refined is to always listen to my gut instinct, walking away when I’m not happy. I’m about relationships and I would never do anything important over the phone, I need to look someone in the eye.
I adopted my mother’s strong work ethic, I was eager to start earning and working and as soon as legally possible I got my first job at 14.9 months (whilst at school) I started as a party hostess for McDonalds and ran all the events. I totally loved it and won all the customer service awards. During this time I was exposed early on to Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charities, it was so rewarding (I think this is really where my passion for charity work began).
My career shifted into Retail, with Westco Clothing, Lincraft and ended up being their top sales performer. Wanting more of a career I moved into corporate. I became an EA in a property company and then worked in Dental which was my first glimpse at an aesthetics & cosmetic clinic. Soon I was their Customer Service Manager dealing with all their media and marketing. Driven to gain more qualifications I went back to night school to do my Diploma in Health Sciences (Dip.H.Sc) in 2001.
During this time I took a job in a beauty therapy salon. After a couple of years I plucked up the courage to go out on my own, first I started in a tiny room in a local hair salon within 1 year I open up my own clinic- Beautylicious. I believe in treating everyone like a friend, this customer focus helped me to progress into developing services that were niche for my customers. I went on to open The Bell City Medi-Spa Clinic At the Rydges Hotel and another two more locations. In total I had two hair salons, a beauty spa and a medical aesthetic clinic. I did this for nearly 10 years. In 2011 I downsized to 1 store and still continued to work with small client base. During this time I was able to still focus on my passion for charity, working on Good Friday Appeal, with Very Special Kids and Ronald McDonald House & McHappy Day. (Which I still do each year).
In 2013, I took a role in property development again, this time at Property AU as their National Channel Marketing & Media Manager. In 2016 I worked as a Commercial Business Broker with Absolute Business Brokers in which I sold all sorts of businesses & commercial entities. In Jan 2017 started with Pacific Star Network hosting my own breakfast radio show on Classic Rock Radio at S.E.N. In August 2017 I also started work at the Nine Network doing talent media work & also public relations .
